I've been promising my son a new canvas for his room,  he's finally persuaded me to let him have his sisters big room while she's away at Uni, so a change of colour scheme and a furniture shift around it's ready for it's new artwork.
So far at 39"x 59" it the largest painting I've done, quite a challenge but loved it.
I remember the Stone Roses first time round, so feel pretty old now that my teenage son is a big fan.
I decided to log the process from my preliminary drawing and sketches to the transition onto canvas, with a few scenic changes along the way, I settled on the bridges and viaduct under Castlefield, in Manchester , the original photo as far as I am aware was taken in Japan.
He's delighted with it!
