I have been doing a bit of organising in my new studio, and have come across lots of work, done years ago, long forgotten about, its been a proper nostalgic look back This is a rough painting of a canvas I was commissioned to do for a hairdressing salon.
The finished piece was a triptych and was very successful.
I will share some more pics over the coming weeks while I work on my next painting.

Well its taken a while, but finally I have my own work space, I can make a mess, leave my stuff out and paint undisturbed.
Its been a very therapeutic few months, sorting / donating and chucking.
Trouble is when you come across stuff the kids made and old photos, you get side- tracked so the job takes so much longer because you are reminiscing, obviously they go in the keep me pile.
Now its time to put my room through its paces and get some more work done.

So far at 39"x 59" it the largest painting I've done, quite a challenge but loved it.
I remember the Stone Roses first time round, so feel pretty old now that my teenage son is a big fan.
I decided to log the process from my preliminary drawing and sketches to the transition onto canvas, with a few scenic changes along the way, I settled on the bridges and viaduct under Castlefield, in Manchester , the original photo as far as I am aware was taken in Japan.
He's delighted with it!
